Terms of Use
Last updated: June 22, 2026
- Interruptus is a wellbeing tool, not medical advice. Its limits are gentle and best-effort — not an unbreakable block.
- Premium is a subscription billed through your Apple ID. It auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Interruptus (“Interruptus”, “we”, “us”), operated by [Operator legal name, City, Country], and govern your use of the Interruptus iOS app and the website at interruptus.app (together, the “Service”). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Apple standard license
Interruptus is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Where these Terms and the Standard EULA differ, these Terms apply for matters they specifically address. You and we acknowledge that Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service, while Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce the Standard EULA.
2. What Interruptus is — and isn't
Interruptus helps you spend less time in apps you'd rather not get lost in, by gently interrupting sessions and counting the time you reclaim. Please understand:
- It is a self-help and wellbeing tool. It is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you're struggling with compulsive use or your mental health, please talk to a qualified professional.
- Its limits rely on Apple's Screen Time frameworks and are best-effort. They can be changed, paused, or bypassed by you or by the operating system, and we don't guarantee they will block any particular app at any particular moment.
- We don't promise any specific outcome or change in your habits.
3. Eligibility & your responsibilities
You must be old enough to form a binding contract and to hold an App Store account in your country. You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to misuse it — for example, by reverse-engineering it (except where the law expressly permits), interfering with its operation, or using it to harm others.
4. Subscriptions, billing & free trial
Interruptus offers an optional Premium subscription that unlocks the app's features. Current plans:
- Yearly — $29.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial.
- Monthly — $4.99 per month, with a 3-day free trial.
Prices shown are in U.S. dollars and may vary by region; the exact price, currency, and any trial terms are always shown on the paywall and confirmed by the App Store before you buy.
How billing works
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price for the same period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.
Free trial
If you start a free trial and don't cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the price above. If you buy a subscription before a trial ends, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies — we generally can't grant them directly. You can request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing here limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices. If a change affects your renewal, you'll be notified and asked to consent in line with Apple's rules before it takes effect; otherwise the change applies from your next billing period.
5. Your content & data
Your settings, reasons, and usage data are yours and stay on your device. How we handle the limited data involved in running the Service is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its name, design, and content, is owned by Interruptus and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Standard EULA. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as the law allows.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have rights that these Terms don't override.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Interruptus and the operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including your mandatory statutory consumer rights).
9. Changes to the Service & these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the Service, and we may revise these Terms. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, give notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or the Standard EULA. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction — e.g. country/state], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live. Apple's Standard EULA continues to govern the matters it addresses.
